Is feminism a sustainable way of thinking in todays society? Does it mean what it meant ten years ago? Drill in feminism and see if it is what it was meant to be. Do you have to believe that gender does not exist, call someone a misogynist as soon as you not agree and think that marriage is a fetter to be a true feminist today? Do you have to hate men and show your boobs to protest against sexism? Do you have to think that all men are bastards and oppresses women, and do you have to feel all this hatred towards society and call it sexist or discriminating? Can’t you take a normal debate instead of being too quick to judge? What if you don’t want to throw hate towards society but only issue the problems you see, are you then eligible to call yourself a feminist? Or even more important do you dare to do so without being afraid of falling into the stereotype of what people think of you?
These are a few of the questions that resonates around many debates about feminism. And many people think of all of this and it adds to the struggle of what you really think.
I call myself a feminist but that doesn’t mean that I agree with all of this. But I don’t want to offend anyone, who believes that you have to agree with all this to be a true feminist, either. I merely question the standards and the conducts that circle around todays feminism and effect everybody’s mindset. Not everybody thinks these extreme thoughts, but somewhere I think that it is good to see things from a different point of view. If not to change your mind, then at least to strengthen your own conviction.
